Your site has opened my eyes - 01/18/2003
Thank you Ben, Jennifer.... your site has really opened my eyes and instilled in me a desire to know God more personally before it is too late... I have always been one of those christians who "rejoices in knowing they are right", but of course that is not enough. I've never read the bible all the way through, but am now undertaking to do so. God is great, and while he has foretold his victory in these coming days, we need to be his servants and warriors. You are doing a wonderful job, and I will tell other christians about your site.
Keep up the work of God and remember to seek out His Will for the answers to all your questions.
P.S. I read your news headlines on a daily basis. :)
CONTENDER MINISTRIES RESPONSE:
Well, God bless your socks off! It is such a blessing to hear things like this. You were part of a large group of Christians when you were rejoicing in being right. That malaise is very common among Christians. We were in that position ourselves at one time. It is so encouraging and exciting to hear that you are undertaking a Bible study and dedicating yourself to serving our Lord and Savior. We rejoice that another believer is becoming a warrior for Christ. God did not promise us an easy ride when we leave our comfort zones, but He blesses us when we hold forth the banner of the truth of the gospel before us! We thank you for encouraging us, and for being a contender. May the truth of the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ be made known through all of us to a world that needs to know Him, and may He richly bless you as you contend for the faith!
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.” – 2 Timothy 1:7-9
