Rapture: Pre-Trib or Post-Trib? - 05/15/2005

I had a guy at work tell me we believers will be here for the tribulations.  Here are the verses he gave me,

Revelation 6 chapter
Revelation 7 chapter
Revelation 10th chapter 5-7
Revelation 11th chapter 3-12
Revelation 12th chapter
Revelation 13th chapter 5-8
Daniel 7 chapter
Matthew 24: 15-22
2 Thessalonian 2:3-4

I'm holding on to, I'm not meant for wrath

Hi William.  There are supports for each of the three different tribulation views (pre, post, and mid trib), but there are also quite a few problems with believing we'll live through the tribulation.  The biggest one, in my opinion, is that the rapture can't be a surprise if it happens after the tribulation.  The Bible clearly says that the rapture will come when we're not expecting it.  If the rapture were post tribulation, we would  know exactly when it's going to happen - seven years after the Antichrist makes a treaty with the Jews.  Christians who've read their Bibles would certainly recognize the seal and trumpet judgments.  When a meteor wipes out a third of the population, as Revelation tells us will happen, we'll know just what we're seeing.  So, we'll also know that the rapture is coming.  That doesn't fit Jesus' and the Apostle's description of the rapture, and it contradicts those verses that say it will come when we least expect it.  There are several other problems with the post-tribulation view, but I think they're listed on the website, so I won't repeat them here.  Like you, I'm glad we weren't appointed to wrath and, as followers of Christ, won't have to suffer through the judgment of the nations.  That's the hope the
Apostles talked about so often.  God bless.

In Him,
