NIV Missing Scripture? - 12/17/2006

I really like your website but I see that you reference the NIV Bible frequently. The NIV version of the Bible is missing more than a significant amount of scriptures; enough to make that Bible not worthy to read. Why do you use the NIV?

Hi E. B.  Thanks for the nice feedback on the website.  We actually use several translations, but mostly the NIV, NASB, and KJV.  Those three are the most accurate.  However, while you believe the NIV is missing Scripture, that is actually not true.  Most of the earliest manuscripts found attest to the fact that the NIV is much closer to the original writings, and the KJV has been based on a Greek text that had added to Scripture.  You won't find these additions in the NIV.  For more information on this topic, please check the following articles:
