Sections on Buddhism/Hinduism Misleading - 10/04/2003
Your sections on Buddhism and Hinduism are grossly misleading especially your limited undersanding and description on Buddhist emptiness. I beg of you to learn more before making judgements, as Jesus Christ himself had done while on this earth. I can understand why individuals with limited knowledge can have such a fundamentalist view on spirituality. I beg of you to educate yourselves. God Bless Everyone.
CONTENDER MINISTRIES RESPONSE:
Hi Jill. Thanks for writing to us. Our sections on Buddhism and Hinduism have been carefully researched. There are many variations in those religions, so there are bound to be some differences. If we have presented erroneous information however, please let us know specifically what that is, so we can rectify the situation. Without mentioning specifics, you are merely taking "pot shots" without being particularly helpful.
Jesus Christ made many judgments. He spoke often about the sinful and evil state of men. He also said the following in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (emphasis added). He also spoke often on the future judgement awaiting those who do not accept the gift of eternal life through Him. You see, Jesus was a "fundamentalist" as well. He taught us to love others, that is true! We do what we do out of love. Following the example and teachings of Jesus, we hate sin but love the sinners. We love those who are deceived by "false gospels" but we despise those teachings. We judge false teachings, but we leave judgment of people to Him. We are following the great commission of Jesus Christ by spreading the word about the true path to salvation. We pray that you may understand that and accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
